Use of fluorides in caries prevention, knowledge
of periodontology and osseointegrated implants, are probably the
most important discoveries in dentistry during the 50 years that
have passed since the European Section of the ICD was founded. Sweden
is the birthplace of modern implant dentistry and the Scientific
Programme will be dedicated to a state-of-the-art seminar with renowned
Swedish speakers giving both surgical and prosthetic aspects of
treatment and results.

After presenting his PhD-thesis
in 1993, Dr. Dahlin is now considered as one of the pioneers
in the concept of Guided Bone Regeneration. He is an Associate
Professor at NÄL Medical Centre Hospital and at the Department
of Biomaterials, Institute for Surgical Sciences, University
of Gothenburg. He is also Courtesy Professor at University
of Florida, College of Dentistry in Gainesville. |
