News From the District 9

Israel,Estonia, Lativa, Lithuannia and Malta 

We are very pleased to announce that at the recent meeting of the Board of Regents of the European Section, International College of Dentists, the board decided to realign the Baltic States from their present incorporation within District 14 (Eastern and Central Europe) to our District 9. As many of you know, originally Latvia was brought into the College under the auspices of our District and so it is fitting that Latvia return along with Estonia and Lithuania as an official part of our District. We welcome our colleagues from the Baltic States to our District and look forward to continued cooperation between all of us

Israeli-Malta District ICD Dental Student Award- 6th Year

Student Prize Award continues into its sixh year by recognizing outstanding senior dental students Tel Aviv University, Hebrew University, Jerusalem andThe Latvian Schools of Dental Medicine. The winner in Jerusalem was Inon Lam .  The other schools will announce thier winners in the Fall of 2009. The award is sponsored by the GC Osada Company and includes a beautiful certificate and $500.00 prize.

Philp Dear Foundation Approves Grant to Promising Scientists

The Israeli IADR Division in collaboration with the ICD European Section will grant a travel award stipend of 600 Euro to an outstanding young dental researcher for attending an IADR international conference and presenting his/her research findings. The prize will be presented at the Israeli Annual IADR meeting. The funding for the prize comes as a grant from the Philip Dear Foundation.
