Portuguese District to host the 54th Annual Meeting in 2009

It is with great pleasure that the European Section announces that the Annual Meeting in 2009 will be held in Portugal under the Presidency of Dr. Antonio Tavares, Regent for Portugal.  Dr Tavares became President-Elect at the 52nd Annual Meeting Annual Meting in Cardiff in June 2007.

Many FICDs remember well the 1992 Meeting, held in Villamoura in the Algarve, when Dr Gil Alcoforado (Senior) was President  - the last Meeting to be held in Portugal.   The European Section looks forward to returning to Portugal again some 17 years later and is very grateful to Dr.Tavares and the Portuguese Fellows for their kind hospitality.

New Regent for Portuguese District June 2007

Dr Gil Alves Alcoforado has been appointed Regent  for the Portuguese District in succession to Dr. Antonio Tavares who was elected President-Elect of the European Section in Cardiff in June, 2007.

New Fellow for Portuguese District June 2007

The Portuguese District is proud to welcome new Fellow Dr. Jorge Pessoa Ferreira da Costa who was introduced into the European Section of ICD in Cardiff in June 2007. Dr Ferreira da Costa is in Private Practice dedicated to Periodontology and Implant Dentistry.
