Dr. Walter van Driel Assumes the Post of Treasurer
Due to a serious illness, Dr. Jan van Hoeve, our Treasurer, has had to relinquish his post. Dr. van Hoeve was officially installed as Treasurer of the European Section at the Annual Meeting in Cardiff in June 2007, having started Treasurer's duties on January 1st 2007. The Fellows of the European Section are deeply grateful to Jan's diligence and meticulous attention to detail which have maintained the finances of the European Section in excellent health. All of us in the European section wish Jan a speedy recovery.
At the Board of Regents meeting in London this past November,
Dr. Walter van Driel, the current Regent for the Benelux Region, was nominated and accepted the position of Treasurer. He is in contact with Jan on a daily basis to ensure that the transfer will go smoothly.
Treasurer's Functions:
To produce
our accounts and keep a control of budgets and expenditures.
